Reimers observing 50th anniversary

LeRoy and Janice Reimer of Hesston celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Jan. 5 with a family dinner in Wichita and a family vacation being planned for April.

LeRoy Reimer and Janice Molzen were married on Jan. 9, 1955, at First Methodist Church in Arkansas City.

LeRoy is the former owner of Reimer Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning.

Janice is a registered nurse.

The have four sons, Tim and Annie, Tom and Gretchen, and John and Cindy, all of Hesston; and James and Piper of Prairie Village.

They have eight grandchildren.

(Obituary of LeRoy Reimer: "LeRoy Reimer - 1930 - 2017 - LeRoy James Reimer, 86, died Thursday (June 15, 2017) in Hesston. He was born Aug. 29, 1930, in Goessel. He graduated from Goessel High School. LeRoy served in 1W service at Topeka State Mental Hospital. He married Janice Molzen of Arkansas City in January of 1955. This marriage was blessed with four boys: Tim, Tom, James and John. The majority of LeRoy's career was spent in plumbing, heating and air conditioning. He owned Reimer Plumbing and Heating for 20-plus years, retiring in the early 1990s. After retirement, LeRoy enjoyed woodworking and built many beautiful things for his family and friends. In his later years, LeRoy enjoyed following his grandkids' activities, traveling with Janice and going to coffee with friends.
He is survived by his wife, Janice of the home; sons, Tim and wife Annie of Hesston, Tom and wife Gretchen of Hesston, James and wife Piper of Prairie Village and John and wife Cindy of Hesston; and eight grandchildren. He is also survived by one sister, Helen Dyck of West Plains, Missouri.
Visitation with family will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday (June 23, 2017) at the Dyck Arboretum of the Plains. A private family graveside service will precede the visitation. The celebration service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday (June 24, 2017) at Kingdom Life Ministries. Memorials are suggested for Haiti Lifeline Ministries, in care of Petersen Funeral Home or Kingdom Life Ministries.")
