Stuart - Lovegreen
Christine A. Stuart and James Robert Lovegreen were united in marriage March 13, 2004 at 2:00 pm in the home of the groom's parents, James and Marjorie Lovegreen.
The ceremony was performed by Rev. Bruce Jeffries, United Methodist minister of Palmyra.
The living room of the home was decorated with two large ferns on pedestals and two candelabras.
Preceding the ceremony, nieces of the groom, Nicole and Courtney Lovegreen, lighted the candelabras and other candles throughout the home as Katie Lovegreen played selections on the piano.
As the Wedding March was played, the bride was escorted in by her father, Terry Stuart, and was given in marriage by her father and mother, Terry and Shirley Stuart.
Chris Ormond, close friend of the bride, served as her maid of honor, and William B. Lovegreen, brother of the groom, served him as best man.
The bride chose a full skirted long white wedding gown of satin with a lace and pearl bodice.
She carried a bouquet of long stemmed pastel roses wrapped in her grandmother Ferrell's handkerchief.
Her maid of honor was adorned in a soft pastel violet gown with a matching shoulder scarf, and carried a pastel bouquet as well.
The ceremony was attended by the parents of the couple, the bride's grandmother, Mrs. Erma Ferrell, the groom's brother and wife, Stephen and Teresa Lovegreen, sister-in-law, Carol Lovegreen, nephews Jonathan and Adam Lovegreen and friend Jenny Thomas and the couple's special friends, Dean and Gloria Drebes.
A reception followed at 6:30 at the Hannibal Country Club for family, relatives and friends of the couple.
At dinner the best man toasted the couple and then to the delight of those in attendance he roasted his brother with a dissertation entitled, "How I Knew My Brother Was in Love.'' The groom responded that all he said was probably true.
The dinner was followed by dancing and visiting.
Robert Lovegreen is employed by Lovegreen Motor Co., as Sales Manager; and Christy Lovegreen is employed by First Federal Bank in Palmyra. The couple is making their home in Palmyra, Mo.
