Johnsons celebrate 50 years of marriage, renew wedding vows
Hallie and Tillman Johnson Jr. of Fayetteville celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on Feb. 10, 2001, with a renewal of their wedding vows at the Wedding Chapel in Gatlinburg, Tenn.
The event was planned by the Johnson children, Hallene Minter and Jennifer Cody of Fayetteville, and Keith Johnson of McDonough, who hosted a reception following the ceremony.
Mr. and Mrs. Johnson were originally married by a Justice of the Peace on Feb. 8, 1951, while Mr. Johnson was on leave from the U.S. Army.
Former residents of College Park, the Johnsons moved to Fayetteville in 1991.
They have three children, three grandchildren and one great-grandson.
The renewal ceremony and reception were attended by 24 friends and family members.
