Mr. and Mrs. Richard Foley of Fayetteville announce the marriage of their daughter, Melia DeShon, to Robert Lawrence Lane, Jr., son of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Lawrence Lane, Sr., of Kingston, Mass.
The wedding was Saturday, April 1, 2000, in the chapel of Mt. Bethel United Methodist Church in Marietta. Rev. Banks Brezel performed the ceremony.
The bride is the granddaughter of Mrs. Gertrue Griffin and the late Ferrell Griffin and Mr. and Mrs. Oliver Rainwater and the late Charles Foley. She is a graduate of the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music, where she earned a Bachelor's degree in music education and a Master's degree in choral conducting. She is employed with the Fayette County Board of Education.
The groom is the grandson of Mrs. Marian Trop and the late Leigh Trop and the late Mr. and Mrs. Malcolm Cook. He is a graduate of the University of Massachusetts-Amherst, where he earned a Bachelor's degree in music and communications. He is employed with Robert Half International, Inc.
The couple was entertained at a barbecue picnic on April 15, held at the First Baptist Church of Fayetteville. Friends and family from Massachusetts, New York, Illinois, South Carolina, Texas and Ohio attended.
The couple now resides in Fayetteville.
