Laughlin - O’Brien
Butler residents Christine Laughlin and William O’Brien exchanged wedding vows at 6 p.m. June 27 at First United Methodist Church in Butler. The Revs. David Panther and Benton Laughlin officiated. Following the ceremony, the newlyweds greeted guests at the Succop Conservancy in Butler.
The bride is the daughter of Denny and Kate Laughlin of Butler. Parents of the bridegroom are Venita O’Brien of Monaca and the late Thomas O’Brien Jr.
The honor attendant was Dorothy Steighner of Butler. Bridesmaids were Samantha Steighner, Kaitlyn Steighner and Meghan O’Brien, all of Butler. The flower girl was Jenna Laughlin of Butler.
Performing the duties of best man was Brendan O’Brien of Butler. Ushers were Cory O’Brien of Beaver, Jonathan McGuire of Monaca and Michael Steighner of Butler.
The bride graduated in 1985 from Butler High School and attended Butler County Community College. She is employed by Butler County Community College.
The bridegroom graduated in 1972 from Center High School, received a bachelor’s degree in 1976 from Lock Haven University and earned his master’s degree in 1982 from Slippery Rock University. He is employed by Butler County Community College.
Following a wedding trip through New England, the couple will live in Butler.
