Meredith Lynn McCoy (of Fort Worth) and Michael Edward Hake (originally of Cincinnati) were united in marriage Saturday, November 20, 2004 at First United Methodist Church of Fort Worth, Texas.
Dr. Mike Marshall officiated.
Music was provided by soloist William Harmon Kelly, III of New York City, and organist Aaron Medino.
Scripture readers were Julie Adelaide Simon and Lisa Kay Waggoner of Fort Worth, friends of the bride.
A reception followed at Ridglea Country Club, with music provided by Trey and the Tritones.
The couple celebrated a champagne toast with goblets used at the weddings of the bride’s parents and the bride’s brother and sister-in-law.
The bride is the daughter of Carolyn deRosset McCoy and the late Dr. James E. McCoy, Jr. of Fort Worth.
She is the granddaughter of the late Lt. Col. and Mrs. Armand John deRosset of Woodburn, Oregon, and the late Mr. and Mrs. James Edward McCoy, Sr. of Bluefield, West Virginia.
The groom is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Edward Howard Hake of Cincinnati, Ohio.
He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Walter W. Cordes of Cincinnati and the late Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Hake of Cincinnati.
Given in marriage by her brother, James E. McCoy, III, the bride wore a strapless princess style gown with a cathedral train.
It was ivory imported Italian matte satin, accented with a wide band of pearl beading across the top of the bodice, in three rows down the back and around the hem of the dress and train.
A tiara of washed silver and pearls held a cathedral length illusion veil of ivory Spanish silk.
The bride’s bouquet consisted of white gardenias and roses accented with light blue delphinium.
The Matron of Honor was Lindsey Aguilar McMillan of Texarkana.
The Bridesmaids were the bride’s sister-in-law Elizabeth Fish McCoy of Fort Worth, Jennifer Tetenbaum Miller, of Washington, DC, Mary Elizabeth Thames Douglas of Dallas and Emily Christian Tom Cockrell of Tampa, Florida.
Flower Girls were Hanley Carroll Speidel and Greta A’Hearn Speidel of Cincinnati, nieces of the groom.
The Best Man was Lee John Seward of Flower Mound.
The Groomsmen were the Groom’s brothers, Russell Frazier Speidel of Charlottesville, VA and Andrew Cordes Speidel of Cincinnati, father of the Groom, Dr. Edward Howard Hake of Cincinnati, and Jason P. Alam of Justin.
Ring bearers were James “Jake” Edward McCoy, IV and William “Burke” McCoy of Fort Worth, nephews of the bride.
The bride is a graduate of Fort Worth Country Day School.
She has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Spanish and Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin, where she was a member of Alpha Delta Pi sorority.
She also graduated summa cum laude with honors, with a Bachelors of Science in Nursing degree from the University of Texas at Arlington, where she is currently studying for Masters of Science in Nursing as a Pediatric Nurse Practitioner.
She is a Registered Nurse at Cook Children’s Medical Center in Fort Worth.
The groom graduated from Cincinnati Country Day School.
He has a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Northwestern University in Boston, Massachusetts.
He is a project engineer with Siemens, AG in Irving.
A brief trip to Las Vegas will be followed by a Mediterranean cruise in the spring.
The couple resides in Flower Mound, Texas.
