GONZALEZ - Kay & Joe
On August 26, 1944, Kathryn Mary Diskin and Joseph Curtis Gonzalez were married in Pleasant Ridge's Nativity Church.
They resided in Kenwood until retiring to Tarpon Springs, Florida in 1985.
Last week the couple relocated to Aston Gardens Retirement Center in Tampa, Florida.
This weekend Joe and Kay are celebrating their good health and 60th wedding anniversary in their new Aston Gardens home.
Joining them are their children Diane, Barry, and Terri, sons-in-law Connolley Leibig and Paul Ellis, daughter-in-law Melanie Gonzalez, and grandchildren Abby Leibig, Nate and Ben Ellis.

(Obituary of Joe Gonzalez: "GONZALEZ, Joseph Curtis 92, died suddenly Thursday, March 6, 2008. His wife Kathryn Diskin Gonzalez preceded him in death by 37 days. He is survived by his children Diane (Tom Leibig) Gonzalez of Chicago, Terri (Paul Ellis) Gonzalez, of Portland, OR, and Barry (Melanie) Gonzalez, of Tarpon Springs; grandchildren, Abby (Dave) Prinn, of New York City, Nate and Ben Ellis, both of Portland. He is also survived by his sisters-in-law, Evelyn Kolkmeyer, of Santa Fe, NM, Virginia Harrigan, of Naples, FL, and Patricia Baldwin of Dunedin. Born in Brooklyn, NY and raised in Quincy, MA, Joe went to work at Goodspeed's Bookstore and then Fore River Shipyard in Boston. He enrolled in the School of Modern Photography in New York City, where he met his wife Kay. He worked in Manhattan and Princeton, NJ as a photographer before relocating to Cincinnati where he and Kay raised their family. Joe was employed as an industrial photographer at Proctor & Gamble for over thirty years. Active in the Cincinnati Art Club, Joe was a talented watercolorist. His hobbies also included woodworking and writing. Joe and Kay retired to Tarpon Springs in 1987. He became a member of the Tarpon Springs Art Association. In 2004 Joe and Kay moved to Aston Gardens Retirement Center where Joe served as a reporter for the monthly newsletter. He also was a member of Aston's sketch club and the personal life history writing group. Funeral mass will be Tuesday, March 11, 3 pm at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church, 2405 Phillippe Parkway, Safety Harbor. Late luncheon to follow in the church hall.
