He is a graduate of Sycamore High School and Harvard College, and received his MD from the University of California, San Francisco.
He completed his residency training in emergency medicine at Cook County Hospital in Chicago and works with the Permanente Medical Group in Hayward and Fremont, California.
The couple reside in Castro Valley, in the East Bay near San Francisco.
