KOCH - Gene & Audrey
Gene and Audrey Koch of Goshen celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary on June 19th, 2004 with friends and family at a party in Pleasant Plain, Ohio.
The couple was married on June 19, 1954, at St. John's Catholic Church in Deer Park in a morning ceremony officiated by the bride's uncle, Father Francis Buerger.
Mrs. Koch is the daughter of the late Mary and Joseph Sieber.
Mr. Koch is the son of the late Roy and Hazel Koch.
In 1956, the Kochs moved with their infant son, James, to a new house in Goshen. Over the years the home grew along with the family as Susan, Katherine, Mary, David, and Carolyn joined their brother.
Mr. Koch commuted to work for the next 40 years with his friend and neighbor, Bob Elam, quite possibly setting a record for car-pooling.
Mr. and Mrs. Koch are longtime, active members of St. Columban Parish in Loveland. The are also active in the lives of their 16 grandchildren, frequently attending their sports games, dance and choir recitals, and academic events.
They have one great-grandchild.
Since retirement, they have enjoyed such experiences as riverboating and visiting their youngest daughter and her family in Texas.
Mrs. Koch also is a member of the Goshen Historical Society.
The anniversary party was hosted by Jim and Cathy Koch, Sue and David Herd, Kathy and Randy Whitacre, Mary and Steve Imfeld, Dave and Theresa Koch, and Carol and Tim Farek.
