Mr. and Mrs. Ronald L. Johnson of Ponca City, Okla., have announced the engagement of their daughter, Rhonda Ann Johnson, to Joseph Henry (Jody) Burkett.
He is the son of Dr. and Mrs. Gerald R. Burkett of Hannibal.
The prospective bride is a 1992 graduate of Ponca City High School.
She earned a bachelor of fine arts degree in art with education certification in 1996 from Baylor University, Waco, Texas, and a master of fine arts degree in studio painting/drawing with a minor in printmaking in 2002 from the University of Missouri-Columbia.
She is employed as a secondary art teacher and cross country coach for the Cole County R-V School System.
The prospective bridegroom is a 1994 graduate of Hannibal High School.
He earned bachelor of science degrees in business administration and political science in 1998 from William Jewell College, Liberty, and a master of science degree in management information systems from Mississippi State University in December 1999.
He is employed as director of information and technology for the Missouri Baptist Convention in Jefferson City.
The wedding is planned for 2 p.m. Aug. 14, 2004 at First Baptist Church in Ponca City.
