WILLAMAN Anniversary
WILLAMANS CELEBRATE 60TH WEDDING ANNIVERSARY
Wally and Ruth Willaman of Southgate, Kentucky celebrated their 60th Wedding Anniversary on May 7th, 2003.
They were married in 1943 at Zion Lutheran Church in Park Hills, Kentucky.
Wally was serving in the Army at that time.
The couple raised their family, son Dennis and daughter Laurie, while living in Bellevue, Kentucky. Laurie currently lives in Dayton, Ohio.
She is married and has two daughters, Robin and Jill.
Dennis lives in Holland, Michigan.
He is married and has one daughter, Elizabeth.
Wally worked at Central Optical in Newport, Kentucky until his retirement, and has always been an avid bowler and golfer. Ruth worked for the Licking Valley Girl Scout Council.
As a volunteer, she earned the nickname "Cookie" for her work on the annual cookie drives.
As a professional staff member she served in several positions, including Assistant Executive Director.
Wally and Ruth have been active members of Prince of Peace Lutheran Church in Bellevue for over 50 years.
