VanAchte anniversary
George and Maria VanAchte will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with friends and family at a no-gift open house on Dec. 28 from 2 to 4 p.m. at Lynden Church of the Nazarene, 8686 Vinup Rd., Lynden.
They were married on Dec. 28, 1953 in McGregor, Manitoba.
George retired from Puget Power in 1993.
Maria retired in 1989 from St. Joseph Hospital where she was a nurse.
Their children are Penny and Lenny LaSac of Tucson, Ariz., and Mark and Lesli VanAchte of Kirkland.
They have eight wonderful grandchildren.
