Dr. Jennifer Lavergne Moran of New Iberia, La., and Dr. Richard Albert Rockar of Covington, La., exchanged wedding vows at 6:30 p.m. Nov. 11, 2000 at La Chapelle Des Attakapas at Vermilionville in Lafayette, La.
The Rev. Michael K. Adams officiated.
A reception followed at Vermilionville.
The bride is the daughter of Leander J. and Joyce R. Lavergne of Opelousas, La.
Parents of the bridegroom are Paul A. Sr. and Dorothy A. Rockar of Cabot.
The bride was escorted down the aisle by the bridegroom.
The bride’s sister, Jill Lavergne Brown of Jonesboro, Ark., was matron of honor.
Her sister, Jayne Lavergne Falk of Lafayette, was the bridesmaid.
Rachel Mackenzie Moran of New Iberia, the bride’s daughter, was the flower girl.
Serving his brother as best man was Paul A. Rockar Jr. of Murrysville. Ushers were the bridegroom’s brother, James A. Rockar of Grover, Mo.; the bride’s brother, Leander J. Lavergne Jr. of Lafayette; and Thomas G. Falk, also of Lafayette.
Ross P. Moran of New Iberia, the bride’s son, was the ring bearer.
The bride is a 1980 graduate of Eunice High School and a 1990 graduate of Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine.
She is the head of the Division of Veterinary Sciences at the University of Louisiana, Lafayette, and the New Iberia Research Center.
The bridegroom, a 1981 alumnus of Knoch High School, graduate in 1985 from Allegheny College in Meadville and in 1988 from the University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine.
He is a clinical veterinarian at the Tulane Regional Primate Research Center in Covington.
The couple spent their honeymoon traveling through Florence, Rome and Italy.
