Browne anniversary
Jim and Moyne Browne will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a no-gift open house on Aug. 10, 2003 at Lynden United Methodist Church from noon to 2:30 p.m. hosted by women of the church.
Jim and Moyne were married on Aug. 9, 1953 at Smith Center, Kan., the geographical center of the continental United States.
Jim worked for the U.S. Department of Defense for nine years and for the Boeing Company for 26 years before retiring and moving to Whatcom County.
Moyne continues to work with The Browne Company, a commercial real estate firm which she established in 1985.
Jim and Moyne have two children, daughter Cyd Bishop and husband Dennis who live near Snohomish, and son Barry and wife Dana who live north of Bellingham.
They have four grandchildren.
