Weatherby anniversary
John and Alice Weatherby of Custer will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a family dinner on June 7.
They were married in a garden ceremony at the home of the bride's aunt and uncle in Blaine on June 4, 1943.
John is retired from Ludke Pacific and Alice is a homemaker.
They are members of Light and Life Christian Fellowship in Bellingham.
John is a member of Puget Sound Tractor and Machinery Association and enjoys restoring antiques and gardening, donating his produce to local food banks every year.
Alice is a member of the Ferndale Senior Activity Center and enjoys quilting, knitting, crocheting, tatting and doing word search puzzles.
Their children are Charles Weatherby and wife Nancy of Salem, Ore., Don Weatherby and wife Sue of Troy, Mont., Jim Weatherby and wife Brenda of Custer, Cathy Weatherby of Lynden and the late Darrell "Sam" Weatherby.
They have 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
They attribute their successful marriage to their commitment to each other and the Lord.
