Hoekema anniversary
Joe and Alice Hoekema of Everson will celebrate their 60th wedding anniversary with a no-gift open house hosted by their children on Saturday from 1 to 4 p.m. at Everson Christian Reformed Church, 109 W. 3rd. St.
The Hoekemas were married on April 10, 1941 at the home of Alice's parents, Bert and Lena Vander Ploeg, on Beard Road.
Their children are Eileen Sterk and husband Truman of Bellingham, Cheryl Roorda and husband Paul and Brent Hoekema and wife Becky, all of Lynden, and Percy Hoekema and wife Lois of Everson.
They have 15 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.
