Rick anniversary
Dale and Jackie Rick of Ferndale recently celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary.
Their children surprised them with a fun-filled weekend in the Seattle area, including dinner at the Space Needle, a boat tour and a Seattle Seahawks game.
They were married on Nov. 14, 1953 at Central Lutheran Church in Bellingham.
They are now members of Hope Lutheran Church in Lynden.
Dale and Jackie grew up as neighbors on West Wiser Lake Road where they still reside.
Jackie graduated from business college and beauty school.
She then established a beauty shop in her home which she still operates.
Dale worked many years as a chicken farmer.
He is semi-retired from the Meridian School District where he holds a maintenance position.
Dale and Jackie greatly enjoy their 11 grandchildren and love attending their activities.
Their children are Kris Halpin and husband Steve of Blaine, and Kurt Rick of Ferndale.
They attribute their successful marriage to faith, family, friends and working together.
