Dewyea — Hugus
TUPPER LAKE — Rene Marie Dewyea and Thomas Anthony Hugus were married Sept. 5, 2009, in St. Alphonsus Church, Tupper Lake, by the Rev. Kris Lauzon.
The bride is the daughter of Sidonna and David Dewyea Sr. of Tupper Lake. The bridegroom is the son of Barbara and John Hugus of Cadyville.
Erin Dewyea of Tupper Lake, sister-in-law of the bride, was matron of honor. Best man was Justin Hugus of Rhode Island, the bridegroom's brother.
Bridesmaids were Sidonna Dewyea of Cadyville, daughter of the bride and bridegroom; and Rebecca Dewyea of Tupper Lake, the bride's sister-in-law.
Ushers were David Dewyea Jr. and Chris Dewyea, both of Tupper Lake, brothers of the bride; and Robert Hugus of Plattsburgh, the bridegroom's brother.
Lydia LaLonde, the bride's cousin, was the reader.
Presentation of gifts was by Piper and Cole Hugus, niece and nephew of the bridegroom.
A reception was held at the 19th Hole Restaurant/Lounge in Tupper Lake.
Rene Hugus graduated from Tupper Lake High School and North Country Community College. She is a chemical dependency counselor at Champlain Valley Family Center in Plattsburgh.
Thomas Hugus graduated from Saranac High School.
He is an accounts manager for Airgas Inc. in Plattsburgh, where he has worked for the past 20 years.
The couple reside at 38 Goddeau Road, Cadyville.
They will take a wedding trip to Alaska in June 2010.
