Morrison -- Scholer
LAKE PLACID -- Stephanie Morrison and Aaron Scholer were married Sept. 3, 2007, in the Adirondack Community Church, Lake Placid, by the Rev. Marty Connor and the Rev Joyce Bryson.
The bride is the daughter of Donald and Connie Morrison of 15 Southmayd Way, Jay.
The bridegroom is the son of Ruth Cyzner of Wallingford, Pa., and the late Ronald Scholer.
Matrons of honor were Heather Simonds of Wakefield, Mass., and Meredith Gillman of Anchorage, Alaska, sisters of the bride.
Best man was David Wolfsohn, the bridegroom's brother.
Andrew Smith of New York City, the bridegroom's nephew, was usher.
The bride was escorted by her father and mother.
Readers were Eve Wolfsohn, sister of the bridegroom; Alexandra Gignoux-Wolfsohn, the bridegroom's sister-in-law; and Jacquelyn Harding, aunt of the bride.
A reception was held at the Crowne Plaza Golf House in Lake Placid.
Stephanie Morrison graduated from AuSable Valley Central School in 1994 and from the U.S. Coast Guard Academy in New London, Conn., in 1998.
In addition, she earned a master's degree in educational technology from San Diego State University.
A lieutenant commander (select), she has served onboard USCGC COWSLIP in Astoria, Ore., as a waterways analyst at the Coast Guard First District, Boston, Mass., as aide-de-camp to now-Vice Admiral Crea, and as a performance consultant for the Coast Guard's Office of Training at Coast Guard Headquarters in Washington, D.C.
While in Washington, D.C., Ms. Morrison also served in the White House as a social aide. She is currently serving as executive officer of U.S. Coast Guard Cutter ASPEN in San Francisco, Calif.
Aaron Scholer graduated from Huntington High School in Huntington.
He holds a bachelor's degree in diplomatic history and a master's degree in international security from Bennington College in Bennington, Vt.
He also holds a Ph.D in politics and international relations from the University of Lancaster, United Kingdom.
Dr. Scholer held an appointment as a visiting scholar at Georgetown University's Department of Government, he has served two U.S. Senators in a national-security-advisory capacity, and he was the director of national-security policy for a Washington D.C.-based political strategy firm. Dr. Scholer now works for the federal government and is currently serving in Iraq.
After a wedding trip to San Francisco, the couple resides at 622 Greenwich St. in San Francisco.
