The bride is the daughter of Jay E. Ricks of Alexandria, and the former Debbie Savage, formerly of Berlin.
She is the granddaughter of Walter T. Savage of Ocean City, and of the late Cornelia Hill Savage, and the niece of Mr. and Mrs. William Mariner of Berlin.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Anthony Piwowarski of Saginaw, Mich.
The Rev. Goeffrey Hoare and the Rev. Robert Drinan performed the ceremony.
The bride wore her mother's wedding dress.
A reception was held at River Farm in Alexandria, with music provided by the Chesapeake Band.
Christine Blasey of Honolulu was the matron of honor.
Bridesmaids were Susan R. Ashcom of Atlanta, Carol L. Ahalt of Arlington, Corrine C. Luesing of Seattle, Ann Piwowarski of Saginaw, Lisa C. Ricks of Arlington, Jennifer Wagner of Washington, and Margaret Whipple of Arlington.
The best man was Anthony Piwowarski of Saginaw. Ushers were Arthur Piwowarski of Birch Run, Mich.; James Piwowarski of Holly, Mich.; Todd Ramsey of Greenville, N.C.; Douglas L. Ricks of Atlanta; Stephen H. Ricks of Arlington; Joseph Will of Saginaw, and Raymond Winiwecke of Detroit.
The bride graduated from the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. She is a third-year law student at Duke University Law School in Durham, N.C.
The bridegroom is a graduate of Mrs. Anthony Piwowarski Michigan State University. He is the owner of Carolina Homebuilders in Greenville, N.C.
The newlyweds are living in Greenville, and will take a belated honeymoon to Greece in August 1995.
