Brent and Kathy Alumbaugh of Auburndale announce the engagement of their daughter, Leigh Ann Alumbaugh of Auburndale to Scott Powell of Kissimmee, son of Larry and Janey Powell of Winter Haven.
The bride-elect graduated from Auburndale High School in 1999 and is attending Florida Southern College where she will graduate with a bachelor's degree in special education in December.
She attends First Missionary Baptist Church.

The prospective bridegroom graduated from Winter Haven High School in 1996 and then from Florida Southern College with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration/Finance.
He is a Take Stock in Children mentor and belongs to the Kissimmee Rotary.
He attends St. John's United Methodist Church.
He is employed at A.G. Edwards and Sons in Kissimmee as a financial consultant.
A July 20, 2002, wedding is planned at First Missionary Baptist Church in Auburndale.
