McIver - Phillips
Laura K. McIver and Dr. James A. Phillips were united in marriage at 6 o'clock in the evening on August 11, 2001, at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Winter Haven.
The bride is the daughter of Jerry and Jamaine McIver of Winter Haven.
The groom is the son of Jesse and Dorothy Phillips of Thonotosassa.
Dr. Mark J. Chironna and Rev. Jerry McIver officiated at the double-ring ceremony.
Providing nuptial music was Pastor John Cavazos, vocalist and accompanist, and Nancy Cooper, soloist.
Given in marriage by her father, Rev. Jerry McIver, the bride wore a scoop neck sleeveless matte satin gown featuring a Basque waist accented with beaded appliques, the same detailed applique' accents the scalloped hem around to the cathedral train.
Traditional satin covered buttons completed the back.
Her headpiece was a lace and pearl bun ring with illusion veil.
She carried a bouquet of calla lilies, white lilies, lavender stock, dendrobium, orchid variegated white and lavender hand held, tied with white sheer ribbon.
Serving as matron of honor was Jamaine McIver, mother of the bride.
Serving as bridesmaids were Kathy DiMatteo, childhood friend of the bride; Pam O'Sullivan, cousin of the bride; Rose Salem, friend of the bride; Patience Clark, daughter of the groom.
Junior bridesmaids were Andrea McIver, niece of the bride and Suzanne Parrish, great niece of the groom.
The flower girl was Penelope Sibert, friend of the bride.
Serving as best man was Dr. Greg Parrish, nephew of the groom.
Serving as groomsmen were Tom Phillips, brother of the groom; Dr. Steve Phillips, brother of the groom and Jay McIver, brother of the bride.
Junior groomsmen were Trey McIver, nephew of the bride and Ryan Parrish, great nephew of the groom.
The ring bearer was Logan DiMatteo, friend of the bride.
The family received guests at Cypress Gardens in Winter Haven.
The guest book was attended by Dr. Elizabeth Parrish.
The couple will live in Ocoee.
