Newberry - Bratten
Dr. Gary and Stacy Newberry of Winter Haven announce the engagement of their daughter, Amy Noel Newberry of Winter Haven to Jacob Andrew Bratten, son of Ed and Sheila Bratten of Springhill, Florida.
Ms. Newberry is also the daughter of Maureen and Terry English and the granddaughter of Joyce Scott and William 'Dave' Fultz.
The Bride-elect has lived in Winter Haven her entire life.
She is a 1995 graduate of Winter Haven High School.
She went on to earn a Bachelor of Arts Degree from the University of Florida, 1999 and her Master's Degree from University of Central Florida, 2001 with a major in Teaching English as a Second Language.
She will be seeking her doctoral degree from University of Central Florida, 2002.
She is a member of Alpha Xi Delta.
She is employed by the Polk County School Board at Haines City High School.
The prospective bridegroom has been a life long resident of Springhill, Florida where he graduated Bible Baptist Academy High School in 1992.
He has worked in juvenile justice for 8 years and has recently moved to Polk County where he is attending the Police Academy at Polk Community College with anticipated graduation November 8.
He plans to pursue a career in law enforcement eventually earning a Master's in Criminal Forensics.
A March 23, 2002 evening wedding is planned at First Presbyterian Church in Winter Haven.
