Mr. and Mrs. Joe and Marie Vukovich
Mr. and Mrs. Joe and Marie Vukovich of Hubbard were honored for their 60th anniversary on July 28, 2007, at a lamb roast and family reunion at Strossmayer’s Picnic Center in Vienna.
The event was hosted by the couple’s children, Joseph (Ruth) of Hubbard, Joan (Joe) Guido of Cortland, and Bill of Charleston, S.C.
They also have four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
Mr. Vukovich and the former Marie Kunovic were married Sept. 6, 1947, at SS. Peter and Paul Church in Youngstown.
Mr. Vukovich retired in 1981 as supervisor for Sawhill Tubular Co. in Sharon, Pa.
He is a member of the Croatian Fraternal Union Lodge 66 and the Knights of Columbus.
A World War II veteran with the U.S. Army, Mr. Vukovich enjoys bowling, golfing and polka dancing.
Mrs. Vukovich is a homemaker. She is a member of Bible Study and Aspirgro and has participated in Jewish/Christian Dialogue for 35 years under Father George Balasko.
The couple are members of St. Patrick Church in Hubbard.
The lamb roast was attended by 150 guests including friends and family from 16 states.
A celebration Mass was held in their honor on July 29, 2007, at SS. Peter and Paul Church in Youngstown.
