Lubker - 50th
Mr. and Mrs. Wallace T. Lubker of Hannibal will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary with a reception hosted by their family from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, in the parlor of the First Christian Church of Hannibal.
Marcella Lorraine Gulewitz and Wallace Taylor Lubker were united in marriage on Sept. 4, 1954, at St. Ann's Catholic Church in Normandy.
Father Robert Forst officiated.
Attendants were Jean Rose, Norma Kattleman, Ann Plaganberg, Marcella Talarski, Judy Loeb, Joy Marland, George Loeb, Rich Hoeferlin, Charlie McDaniel and Ed Gulewitz.
Mrs. Lubker is the daughter of Estelle Gulewitz of St. Louis and the late Edward Gulewitz.
Mr. Lubker is the son of the late Harry Lubker and the late Margaret Marland, formerly of St. Louis.
They are the parents of one daughter, Sherre Mobley and husband, David, of rural New London.
They have three grandchildren, Austin, Ethan and Kate Mobley, all of rural New London.
Mr. Lubker is retired. For 12 years, he worked at Emerson Electric Manufacturing Co. as a production control manager.
He then owned and operated a Ben Franklin store in St. Louis for 17 years, and later managed another Ben Franklin store in the St. Louis area.
He served in the Korean War from 1951 to 1952.
Mrs. Lubker worked as a secretary at Emerson Electric Manufacturing Co., where they first met.
She is retired from St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley, where she was an administrative assistant for 19 years.
She also did bookkeeping for the family business.
They moved to Hannibal from St. Louis seven years ago to be near their daughter's family and enjoy spending time with their grandchildren.
They have a West Highland Terrier, Munchkin, that they treasure.
Friends and family are invited to attend the reception.
