WELLSBURG - Erica A. DeGarmo and Shane R. Wetherell were united in marriage Oct. 2, 2004, at Evangelical Friends Church in Smithfield with the Rev. Robert Carson officiating the 3 p.m. ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Charles and Suzanne DeGarmo of Wellsburg.
The groom is the son of Robert and Patricia Wetherell of New Alexandria.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a white satin gown with asymmetrical skirt and beaded lace inset. She carried a bouquet of lavender and white lilies.
Emily R. DeGarmo, sister of the bride, served as maid of honor. Carrie Wetherell was bridesmaid.
Brent Wetherell, brother of the groom, served as best man. Ross Wetherell, cousin of the groom, was groomsman. William, Adam and Chase DeGarmo, brothers of the bride, served as ushers.
Following a reception at the former New Alexandria Elementary School, the couple took a wedding trip traveling and sightseeing throughout West Virginia and Ohio.
The bride is a 1999 graduate of Brooke High School and a 2003 graduate of West Liberty State College with a degree in elementary education and a minor in special education. She is employed as a substitute teacher in Ohio and West Virginia.
The groom is a 1994 graduate of Franciscan University of Steubenville with a degree in communications and a minor in music. He is employed with Water Transport.
They are making their home in New Alexandria.
