WELLSBURG - Ashley Marie Cecchini and Ryan Joseph Sperlazza were united in marriage April 2, 2005, at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Wellsburg with the Rev. Walter Jagela officiating for the 2:30 p.m. nuptials.
The bride, daughter of Lee and Melanie Cecchini of Wellsburg, was escorted to the altar by her father. She chose a white satin v-neck gown accented with pearl beading and Alencon lace with an apron back underlay and detachable cathedral length train.
The groom is the son of Mark and Sharon Sperlazza, also of Wellsburg.
Marcie Sperlazza of Wellsburg, sister of the groom, served as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Rachael Sperlazza, sister of the groom; Erika Cecchini, sister of the bride; Amy Cecchini, sister-in-law of the bride, all of Wellsburg and Amy Pettini of Bethany.
Thomas Diserio of Wellsburg, cousin of the groom, served as best man. Ushers were Anthony and Christopher Cecchini of Wellsburg, brothers of the bride; James Sperlazza Jr. of Wellsburg, cousin of the groom; and Robert Morris of Beech Bottom.
The groom's cousin, Dayna Frio of St. Charles, Ill. was the flower girl.
The bride's cousins, Michael Jones of Wellsburg and Jacob Clarkson of Houston, Texas, were the ring bearers.
Following their reception at St. Florian Hall in Wintersville, the couple honeymooned at Walt Disney World.
They are residing in Wellsburg.
The bride is a 2001 graduate of Brooke High School and a 2004 graduate of West Liberty State College with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. She is employed as a substitute teacher.
The groom is a 2000 graduate of Brooke High School and also a 2004 graduate of WLSC with a bachelor's degree in elementary education. He is employed by Riverfront Mortgage.
