Heely - Peterson
MINGO JUNCTION - Rebecca West Heely and James Scott Peterson were united in marriage June 26, 2004, in Avon, N.C., with the Rev. Graham Hudgins officiating. A beach reception followed in the Outer Banks. The couple also received a marriage blessing Aug. 1 in St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church in Mingo Junction with the Rev. Andrew Chura officiating. A reception followed at Hickory Lodge.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Heely of Norfolk, Va.
The groom is the son of Christine Peterson of Mingo Junction and the late James Peterson.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown of French lace over silk taffeta. She carried a bouquet of vendela roses, freesia, stock and white tulips.
The maid of honor was Amy Metzger and the matron of honor was Jenny LeHew, both of Norfolk. Bridesmaids were Courtney Violette of Annapolis, Md., and Ericka Peterson of Aarhus, Denmark, sister of the groom.
Daniel Arnett of Hermitage, Pa., served as the best man. Groomsmen included brothers of the bride, Robert Heely Jr of Arlington, Va., and Edward Heely of Norfolk; Brent Witgen of Aarhus, brother-in-law of the groom; Eric Nessler of Dublin, Ohio and Christopher Campbell of Pittsburgh.
Following the reception the couple honeymooned on Ocracoke Island.
The bride is a graduate of Norfolk Collegiate, Peace College, Appalachian State College and Old Dominion University.
She is a music teacher at Norfolk Academy.
The groom is a graduate of Indian Creek High School, Westminster College and is a candidate for graduation in summer 2005 with a master's degree in school administration at Old Dominion University. He is a math specialist teacher in the Norfolk Public School District.
The couple resides in Norfolk.
