Linnenburger - 50
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth E. Linnenburger of Hannibal will be celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary Sunday, Sept. 19, 2004.
They were honored by a surprise dinner hosted by their children: Kitral (Butch) Chaplin, Cheryl (Paul) Harder and Dawn (Kevin) Halterman, all of Hannibal, and their grandchildren, including Trent Chaplin, Abbey Chaplin, Ethan Chaplin, Katey Chaplin, Lauren Harder, Evan Harder, Krystin Halterman and Rachel Harterman at the Pear Tree in Bevier.
Also attending dinner were Leslie Burditt, fiancée of Trent Chaplin, and Mark Groenda, friend of Abbey Chaplin.
They were also honored at a gathering and dinner with their Sunday School Class (Antioch Baptist) at Mr. and Mrs. William R. Jameson's residence in Oakwood.
Helen Joyce Horstmeyer, daughter of Albert and Etta Horstmeyer of rural Hannibal, became the bride of Kenneth E. Linnenburger, son of Herbert and Bertha Linnenburger of Hannibal, at 2 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, 1954, during a ceremony performed at Antioch Baptist Church by the Rev. D. F. McCormick, pastor.
Attendants were Betty Horstmeyer, sister-in-law of the bride, and Peggy Schuessler, cousin of the bride.
Groomsmen were Wayne Linnenburger and Louis Linnenburger, brothers of the bridegroom.
Mr. Linnenburger is retired from the Hannibal Courier-Post after 43 years and Mrs. Linnenburger is retired from the Hannibal Dental Group (Dr. E. W. Harder) after 27 years.
They are residing on Route T in rural Hannibal.
The Linnenburgers will also celebrate with a trip to the coast of the state of Maine.
