Julie Anne Janes became the bride of Patrick Leach at 6:30 p.m. July 28, 2001 at the First Christian Church in Hannibal, with the Rev. Nathaniel Bock performing the ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Bud and Carol Janes, Hannibal, and the groom is the son of Kathy Reel, Overland Park, Kans.
The matron of honor was Andrea Miller, of Shawnee, Kans., friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Teri Jones, St. Louis., cousin of the bride; Dana Carter, of Overland Park, Kans., sister of the groom; and Christy Goodwin, of Shawnee, Kans., cousin of the groom.
Jr. bridesmaid was cousin of the bride, Renee Stone of Monroe City.
Best man was Micheal Leach, the groom's brother, of Olathe, Kans., Groomsmen were Jason Reel, uncle of the groom, of Overland Park, Kans.; Sean Kennedy, Lenexa, Kans., and Ian Valentine, Olathe, Kans., both cousins of the groom.
Ushers were Justin Janes, brother of the bride, and Jason Janes, cousin of the bride, both of Hannibal, and Dave Carpenter, friend of the couple.
Candlelighters were Jill Janes, St. Louis, cousin of the bride, and Amy Valentine, of Kansas City, Kans., cousin of the groom.
The bride's personal attendant was Erin Thomas, friend of the bride, of Kansas City, Kans.
Guest book attendants were friends of the bride, Andrea Gervais, of Macon, and Kindra Szarka, of Palmyra.
Serving as vocalists were Tomi Burniski, of Hannibal, who sang "The River is Wide," and Tomi and Shannon Reese, Hannibal, who sang "From This Moment.''
The reception was held following the ceremony at the American Legion Hall in Hannibal.
Serving the wedding cake were Judy Stone, Monroe City, and Jeana Drebenstedt, of Philadelphia, aunts of the bride.
The rehearsal barbeque was held at the home of the bride's parents.
The bride graduated from Palmyra High School in 1995, and from the University of Missouri - Kansas City, Kansas City, in 2000 with a bachelor degree in elementary education. She is employed as a fourth and fifth grade teacher by the Kansas City School District.
The groom is a 1992 graduate of Shawnee Mission North High School in Shawnee Mission, Kans., and attended Southwest Missouri State University in Springfield, Mo. He is employed by S & R Cabinets in Kansas City, Kans.
After a wedding trip to Hermann, the couple is residing in Shawnee, Kans.
