The couple has three children: son Calvin Pfannenstiel and fiance', Amanda Zerr, and grandsons C.J. and Derrick Pfannenstiel and a great-granddaughter, Johannah Pfannenstiel; daughter, Debbie and husband, Tom Schnieder, and granddaughters Elizabeth Schnieder and Elaine Ziegler; daughter Brenda and husband, Kevin Schoenberger, granddaughter Nicole and husband, Jeff, Mattheyer, great- granddaughter Myha, grandson Brett Stokes and fiance', Kim, and great-grandson Brant.
Jim and Firma Kruetzer were married April 12, 1958, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Hays.
