Avritt - Knaup
Gail Lynn Avritt and Todd William Knaup exchanged vows July 20, 2002, at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church in Cape Girardeau. The Rev. J. Friedel performed the ceremony. Pianist was Cheryl Oberhaus and soloist was Alan Bruns, both of Cape Girardeau.
The bride is the daughter of Wynne G. Avritt of Killeen, Texas. John and Ann Knaup of Jackson are parents of the groom.
Matron of honor was Allison Smith of Cape Girardeau. Bridesmaids were Ida Avritt of San Antonio, Texas, sister of the bride; Lila Gidley of Waterloo, Ill., and Joyce Hunter of Cape Girardeau.
James Keusenkothen of Jackson served the groom as best man. Groomsmen were Rowdy Jones of Manchester, Mo., David Ressel of North Olmsted, Ohio, and James Knaup of Jefferson City, Mo., cousin of the groom. Ushers were Andrew Knaup of Potosi, brother of the groom; Scott Smith of Cape Girardeau; Thomas Knaup of Cape Girardeau and Christopher Conklin of Kelso, Mo., both cousins of the groom.
Candlelighters were Heather Heusohn of Waterloo and Ashley Smith of Cape Girardeau, nieces of the bride.
Flower girl was Sydney Stein, daughter of the bride and groom. Ringbearer was Joshua Rogers, nephew and godson of the groom.
Following the ceremony, the reception was held at the Knights of Columbus Hall in Jackson. Servers were Martha Ritter and Cindy Heusohn.
The groom's parents hosted the rehearsal dinner July 19 at the KC Hall.
Mrs. Knaup is a 1987 graduate of Great Falls High School in Great Falls, Mont. She received an associate of applied science degree as a physical therapist assistant from Belleville Area College in Belleville, Ill., in 1994. She is wellness coordinator at Saxony Village.
The groom is a 1980 graduate of Notre Dame High School, and a 1985 graduate of DuPage Horticultural School in Chicago. He is a technician at Procter & Gamble.
The couple resides in Cape Girardeau.
