Miss Abbie E. Smith Becomes Bride Of Adam J. Bradshaw
Miss Abbie Elizabeth Smith and Mr. Adam Jeremy Bradshaw were united in marriage on April 10, 1999, at the First Baptist Church of Columbus. Dr. Ron Grizzle officiated at the afternoon ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louie Benjamin Smith, Jr. of Columbus. She is the granddaughter of Mrs. Ben Smith, Sr. of Hamilton and the late Mr. Smith. She is also the granddaughter of Mr. Charles Emory Barnhill of Moultrie, Georgia and the late Mrs. Barnhill. Mr. Barnhill escorted Mrs. Cleo Odom, a friend of the bride’s family. The groom’s parents are Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hugh Bradshaw of Opelika, Alabama. Grandparents are Mrs. E.R. Bradshaw of Columbus and Mrs. Josephine King of Ludowici, Georgia.
The nuptial music was presented by Miss Alecia Henderson, vocalist, Dr. Jack Buchanan, organist, and Mr. Denny Reid, trumpeter. Miss Mary Kathryn Wilson served as maid of honor. The other bridesmaids were Miss Sarah Bradshaw, sister of the groom; Miss Michelle Miller, Miss Susan Shehane, Miss Laura Daniels and Miss Stephanie Warnock, cousin of the bride. The bridesmaids wore floor length periwinkle blue dresses and carried bouquets of spring blossoms.
Mr. Bradshaw served as best man for his son. The ushers were Mr. Benjamin Smith, brother of the bride; Mr. Chad Wells, Mr. Hal Bennett, Mr. Eric Ogden, and Mr. Mike Chancy.
The bride was given in marriage by her father. Her dress featured an empire waist and embroidered bodice. The A-line skirt of white silk organza was enhanced by a lace motif on the chapel train.
The bride’s parents entertained at a reception in the church fellowship hall. Mr. Bradshaw and his bride left for a trip to Florida. They will make their home in Conyers, Georgia.
REHEARSAL DINNER
The wedding rehearsal dinner was hosted on April 9th by the groom’s parents, Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hugh Bradshaw. The festive dinner was held at the Chattahoochee River Club in Columbus. Out of town guests, other than members of the wedding party, included Mr. and Mrs. William Grimes of Savannah; Mr. and Mrs. Robert D. King of Stone Mountain, Mrs. Josephine King and Mrs. and Mrs. Jan Perdue of Ludowici, Georgia; Mr. and Mrs. Ancil Taylor of Brunswick, Georgia; Rev. and Mrs. Gerald Reeves of Niceville, Florida; and Dr. and Mrs. Ralph Warnock, Mr. Charles Warnock, and Mrs. and Mrs. Stephen Warnock of Thomaston, Georgia.
