Brauer-Ireland
Suzanna L. Brauer, daughter of Chris and Leslie Kerns of 2936 Forest Brook Drive, Valdese, N.C., was united in marriage to William B. Ireland, son of Bob and Joan Ireland of 509 N. Shore Road, Peck's Lake, at 9:45 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 4.
The ceremony took place at Quaker Meadows of The McDowell House, Morganton, N.C. The Rev. Michael O'Riley officiated.
The bride and groom were each given in marriage by their parents.
Bridal attendants were Lydia Haney of Cullowhee, N.C., and Elizabeth Ireland of Gloversville, sister of the groom.
Best man was Steven B. Ireland of Rochester and James S. Ireland of Saratoga Springs, brothers of the groom.
A reception was held at Quaker Meadows following the ceremony. A wedding celebration took place Aug. 18, at Sir William Johnson Hall in Johnstown.
The couple took a honeymoon to Voss, Norway. They live at 207 Irish Settlement Road, Freeville.
The bride is a graduate of the North Carolina School of Science and Math, Durham, N.C., and received a bachelor's degrees from Swathmore College, Swathmore, Pa, and Evergreen State College, Olympia, Wash. She has a fellowship in biogeo chemistry at Cornell University, Ithaca.
The groom is a graduate of Gloversville High School and received an associate's degree from Paul Smith's College, Paul Smiths, and a bachelor's degree from Evergreen State College.
