BRACKEN-STONE
EUREKA SPRINGS -- Lauren Jo Stone and Brad Bracken, both of Jonesboro, were united in marriage at 4:30 p.m. Aug. 20, 2004 at Thorncrown Chapel at Eureka Springs. The Rev. Douglas Reed officiated at the private, double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Chris M. Stone of Altheimer and the late Charla Jo Stone. Her grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Charles McDougall Jr. of Little Rock and Kansas City, Mrs. Paul Stone of Altheimer and the late Mr. Stone and Mrs. Chris Smith of DeWitt. She attended school at Stuttgart and DeWitt, graduating in 2000 from DeWitt High School. She attended Arkansas State University at Jonesboro and teaches pre-kindergarten at First United Methodist Church at Jonesboro.
The bridegroom's parents are Mr. and Mrs. Tim Bracken of Jonesboro. He is the grandson of Gordon Bracken of Jonesboro and the late Juanita Bracken, and Eva Combs of Jonesboro and the late Arville Newcom. He graduated from Brookland High School at Jonesboro and attended the university at Jonesboro. He is a manager of inside sales accounts at Tec Electric at Jonesboro.
A program of nuptial music was furnished by Mrs. Dell Reed of Eureka Springs.
Jadyn Stone of Little Rock, niece of the bride, was the flower girl.
The bride's Grandmother McDougall red selections of poetry, including a poem written by her for the couple.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a pearl white gown of double-faced silk organza. The strapless, ribbed satin corset-bodice ended in a dropped waist with points extending front and back into the bouffant skirt. Borders of crystals and seed pearls accented the bodice and hem of the floor-length skirt and sweep train.
Her fingertip-length veil of illusion was secured by a tiara of crystals and pearls.
Her jewelry was diamond earrings belonging to her mother, and a single-strand pearl necklace and a bracelet of pearls and brilliants.
She carried an arm bouquet of three white calla lilies tied with crystal ribbon and trimmed with alstroemeria lilies and misty caspia.
Shea Stone of Little Rock, the bride's sister, was the maid of honor. She wore a tea-length, staggered hem gown of mauve and lavender silk chiffon embellished with scattered brilliants. She carried a single white calla lily trimmed in the same fashion as the bride's bouquet.
The bridegroom's father served as the best man.
Following the ceremony, a candle-lit dinner was held in the Crystal Ballroom of the Crescent Hotel at Eureka Springs.
Music was provided by an antique table-sized music box that had belonged to the bride's great-grandfather, the late Leon J. Garot, and had been played at the wedding reception of the bride's mother and father.
After a honeymoon at Eureka Springs and a wedding trip to Branson, Mo., the couple is at home at Jonesboro.
