PLAYA DEL CARMEN, Mexico -- Dana Leigh Anthoni and Bryon Scott Tidwell were united in marriage at 5 p.m. Aug. 14, 2004 on the beach at the Gran Porto Real Resort at Playa Del Carmen. Lucio Varo Kantun Chi officiated at the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Brenda J. Anthoni and Richard Anthoni, both of Pine Bluff, Ark. Her grandparents are Peggy Jasay of Monticello, Ark., and the late Louis Jasay and Margaret Pistole of Crossett, Ark., and the late Vaughn Pistole.
The bridegroom is the son of Thomas B. and Jennifer "Kay" Tidwell of Pine Bluff. He is the grandson of Thomas and Carrie Tidwell of Pine Bluff and the late Wilton Austin and the late Juanita and Burl Clemons.
Molly Rosa Ward of Little Rock was the flower girl.
Escorted by her father and joined by her mother at the altar, the bride wore a formal gown of white bridal satin. The strapless, princess-line gown featured a scalloped, beaded bodice. The skirt was fashioned with an asymmetrical side drape that extended into a sweep train.
Her elbow-length veil featured a narrowed edge and was secured by a comb.
Her bouquet was of white roses with pink trim. The bride also carried a handkerchief, a gift of her Grandmother Jasay, which had belonged to her mother, the late Ada Harper.
Cara Kendall of Nashville, Tenn.; Amber Hankins Garton and Rachel Elizabeth Catlett, both of Fayetteville, Ark.; Meredith Jeter Hagan of Collierville, Tenn.; Stacy McFadin Hagan of Conway, Ark.; Emily Cheatham Davis of Little Rock; Rebekah Price Finney of Battle Creek, Mich.; and Jamie Lynn Dildy of Dallas were the bridesmaids.
The bridal attendants wore strapless dresses of light blue linen and carried bouquets of baby pink roses with pink wax leaves.
The honorary attendant was Amy LaFrance Shelby of Little Rock, who distributed the wedding programs.
The bridegroom's father served as the best man.
Jason E. Anthoni of Little Rock, brother of the bride, and Jason C. Garton of Fayetteville were the groomsmen.
After the ceremony, a reception was held on the beach at the resort.
After a honeymoon spent at the resort at Playa Del Carmen, the couple is at home at Fayetteville.
The bridegroom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner Aug. 13 at Costa Real at Cancun, Mexico.
