Shelia Renee Carter and Dwayne Aalseth were united in marriage at 4 p.m. Aug. 21, 2004 in Banquet Hall No. 2 in the Pine Bluff Convention Center. The Rev. Christopher Mack officiated at the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Bertha Threadgill Jermon of Pine Bluff.
The bridegroom is the son of Betty Aalseth of Pine Bluff and Milton Grooms Jr. of Jacksonville.
A program of nuptial music was furnished by Allison Hook, Ben Crossett, Isaac Jones and Mack, all vocalists.
Jadah Gonder, great-niece of the bride, and Briana Badgley were the flower girls.
The ringbearer was Jaelon Gonder, great-nephew of the bride.
The pillowbearer was Jyron Russell of Irving, Texas, great-nephew of the bride.
The bellringers were Dennis Coleman Jr. and BreJon Crockom of Jacksonville, niece of the bridegroom.
Escorted by her brothers, Sam Threadgill and Arthur Threadgill, the bride wore an ivory formal gown featuring an off-the-shoulder bodice, which was overlaid with lace, as were the long sleeves that came to points at the wrists. The sweetheart neckline and sleeves were embellished with iridescent sequins and seed pearls.
A tiara of rhinestones secured her veil of candlelight tulle.
She carried a bouquet of multicolored roses and baby's breath.
The bride's jewelry was earrings and a necklace, a gift of her sister, Eliza Williams of Pine Bluff, who was also the wedding coordinator.
The matron of honor was Mary Coleman.
Erika Carter, daughter of the bride, was the honorary maid of honor.
The bridesmaids were Christy Badgley, Pam Ford, Lyndia Hardin, Tenecia McDaniel, Vanessa Jackson of Sacramento, Calif., and LaTonya Russell of Irving, Jaquetta Threadgill and Bridgett Williams, all nieces of the bride.
The bridal attendants wore rainbow-colored gowns fashioned with spaghetti straps and matching shawls. They wore rhinestone jewelry.
The junior bridesmaid was Seleste Anthony of Irving, great-niece of the bride.
The bridegroom's father and Milton Grooms III, brother of the bridegroom, both of Jacksonville, served as the best men.
The ushers were Marquies Carter, son of the bride, and Marcus Threadgill, nephew of the bride.
The groomsmen were John Badgley, Harold Clark, Dennis Coleman, Frank Crockom of Jacksonville, brother-in-law of the bridegroom, Jeff Devine, Clyde McDaniel, Chris Rains and James Threadgill, brother of the bride.
The junior groomsman was Quran Johnson, great-nephew of the bride.
After the ceremony, a reception was held in the banquet hall.
Carolyn Washington and Brianne Crockom of Jacksonville, sister of the bridegroom, kept the bride's book.
Teneidra Watkins distributed souvenirs.
The reception coordinator was Mirian Anderson.
Other members of the house party were Brandi Hood, Odessa King, Beverly Lewis, Lisa Moltz, Tamela Johnson, niece of the bride, Cheryl Smith and Dorothy Wilson.
After a wedding trip to Hot Springs, the couple is at home at Pine Bluff.
Eliza Williams, sister of the bride, hosted a rehearsal dinner Aug. 20 at the Pine Bluff Convention Center.
