MCGAHHEY-SMITH
Jennifer Suzanne Smith and John Steven McGahhey II were united in marriage at 7 p.m. Saturday in a garden ceremony at the home of the bride's grandmother, Joan C. Smith of Pine Bluff. The Rev. Allan McKinley officiated at the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. Paul Smith Jr. of Pine Bluff. She is also the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Bobby R. Kelly of Pine Bluff and the late J.P. "Cotton" Smith.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. John Steven McGahhey of Pine Bluff. His grandparents are Bobbie Gurnsey of White Hall and the late Fred Gurnsey and the late John B. McGahhey and the late Ann McGahhey.
A program of nuptial music was furnished by Samuel J. Wyatt III.
Madeline McKayle Grice of Sheridan, cousin of the bride, and Hannah Breanne Humphrey of Pine Bluff were the flower girls and distributed rice bags at the reception.
The ringbearers were Jaxon Wade Via and Benjamin Randall Grice, cousin of the bride.
Joshua Ryen Via was the greeter.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a designer gown of white satin. The strapless bodice featured a ruched front that fell into an A-line skirt accented in the back with a sweep train.
Her tea-length veil was of three satin-trimmed and scalloped layers, secured by a tiara of pearls and rhinestones.
She carried a bouquet of fuchsia and yellow roses tied with white satin ribbon and secured with her Grandfather Smith's wedding band.
The bride's jewelry was pearls belonging to her great-grandmother, the late Elsie Funderburg.
Kelly Hunter Moss was the matron of honor. She wore a tea-length gown of fuchsia satin, featuring a strapless bodice and flowing, A-line skirt. She carried a hand-held bouquet of fuchsia and yellow roses.
Jennifer Delois McGahhey of Pine Bluff, sister of the bridegroom, and Jacqueline Buckner Smith of Ellensburg, Wash., sister-in-law of the bride, were the bridesmaids.
The bridegroom's father was the best man.
Timothy Britton Cheek and Justin Chain Cheek, both cousins of the bride, were the ushers.
Jesse Paul "Trey" Smith III of Ellensburg, brother of the bride, and Massen LeRoy Via of Pine Bluff were the groomsmen.
The honorary groomsman was Mark Aaron McGahhey, now serving in Iraq.
After the ceremony, a reception was held in the garden of the bride's Grandmother Smith.
Tammy Michelle Dallari of Little Rock and Gaila Marie Young of Pine Bluff kept the bride's book and assisted with serving.
After a wedding trip to Nassau, Bahamas, the couple will be at home at Pine Bluff.
The bridegroom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner Friday at The Banquet Barn at Pine Bluff.
