HUMPHREY-BUIE
Shelisa Celeste Buie and Aurelius Ja'Wayne Humphrey exchanged wedding vows at 4 p.m. July 31, 2004 at Greater Fellowship Ministries at Pine Bluff. The Rev. Eddie G. Carter of Dumas officiated at the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Crystal Burns and Carlton Buie, both of Pine Bluff. Her grandparents are Laverne Watkins, Mr. and Mrs. Elroy Clayton and Leonard Buie, all of Pine Bluff, and the late Curtistine Buie.
The bridegroom is the son of Shirleen Smith-Humphrey of Pine Bluff and the late Jackie Humphrey. His grandparents are Caroline Smith of Pine Bluff and the late Detroit Smith and the late Charles and Reece Humphrey.
A program of wedding music was presented by Keith Savage.
The flower girls were Te'Lynn Humphrey and Ciara Langel.
Kameron Buie was the ringbearer.
The aisle runner was unrolled by Travis Humphrey.
The candlelighters and ushers were Cary Clayton and Julius Buie.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown of white bridal satin, fashioned with an A-line silhouette extending to a chapel-length train. The sweetheart neckline was embroidered with sea pearls and sequins on the bodice with cap sleeves.
Her fingertip-length veil of white was secured by a crystal-and-pearl, double-tiered tiara.
She carried a bouquet of white roses and stephanotis and lavender stocks, accented with baby's breath.
The bride's jewelry was a pearl-and-crystal necklace with matching earrings.
Kenya Carter and April Thomas were the maids of honor. They wore A-line gowns of silver chiffon, featuring A-line silhouettes, spaghetti straps with draped necklines and shawls.
Chaketa Guinn, Nicole White, Kaleisha Wise, Ebonie Woods and Katina Clark were the bridesmaids.
Stevie Cobbs was the best man.
The groomsmen were Carlos Buie, Terry Guinn, Ricketo Humphrey, Roderick Humphrey, Orintha Davis and Allen Wise.
After the ceremony, a reception was held at the Waterfront Facility at the Pine Bluff/Jefferson County Regional Park.
Christina Edwards kept the bride's book.
Leslie Montgomery distributed bubbles.
The members of the house party were Paulette Washington, Juanita Washington, Cynthia Moore and Marilyn Hearn.
The couple is at home at Little Rock.
Lettie Lewis and the mother of the bridegroom hosted a rehearsal dinner July 30 at the Greater Fellowship Ministries fellowship hall.
