MITCHELL-BURKS
CONWAY -- Rebecca G. Burks of Conway and Brian E. Mitchell of Rison were united in marriage at 7 p.m. July 30 at Antioch Baptist Church at Conway. The Rev. Dan Carson of Lowell (Benton County) officiated at the candlelight, double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert O. Burks of Conway.
The bridegroom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Mitchell of Rison.
A program of nuptial music was furnished by Wrenetta Austin of Conway and Pat Stewart of England (Lonoke County), both pianists; and Dane Yerton and Heather Malone, both also of Conway, vocalists.
The flower girl was Madison Patrick of Stuttgart.
Austin Norman of Monticello was the ringbearer.
Caitlin McCormick of Jacksonville, Fla., and Abby Hoffman of Conway were the candlelighters.
Escorted by her father, the bride wore a gown of candlelight ivory fashioned with a strapless, fitted bodice that was laced up the back and intricately designed in a swirl pattern with iridescent beads, ivory lace and teardrop pearls. The cathedral-length train was fully beaded and embellished with hand-sewn pearls and lace.
The bride wore her mother's tea-length veil, which had three lace-trimmed layers and was secured with a headpiece decorated with pearls and matching lace.
She carried a bouquet of two dozen red roses with ivy and ribbon cascading down the front.
The bride's jewelry was pearl earrings, a gift of her grandmother, Mary Burks of Jacksonville, and a single stand of pearls.
Lauren Austin of Conway was the maid of honor. She wore a strapless gown of claret red and carried a bouquet of red and ivory roses.
The bridesmaids were Jordan Burks of Lonoke, cousin of the bride; Ruth Burks and Rachel Burks, both of Conway and both sisters of the bride; and Charity Armijo.
The bridegroom's brother, Erik Mitchell of Rison, was the best man.
Mark Patrick of Stuttgart, Michael Francis of Conway and Russ Rauls and Tony Cummings, both of Little Rock, were the groomsmen.
The ushers were Sam Settle of Hackett (Sebastian County) and Rob Burks of Conway, brother of the bride.
After the ceremony, a reception was held in the family life center of the church.
Melinda Larson of Fayetteville kept the bride's book.
Mary Gillin of North Little Rock; Ashley Post and Melissa Hayden, both of Fort Smith; and Brittany Coburn, Kathleen Foster and Wendy Davis, all of Conway, assisted with serving.
After a wedding cruise to Key West, Fla., and the Bahamas, the couple is at home at Lonoke.
The bridegroom's parents hosted a rehearsal dinner July 29 in the church parlor.
