SPEGAR-HOOKS
LITTLE ROCK -- Tara Kristen Hooks and Garrett Michael Spegar, both of Chicago, exchanged wedding vows at 6 p.m. May 1, 2004 at Pulaski Heights United Methodist Church at Little Rock. The Rev. Jeff Warrick and the Rev. Robert Leonard officiated at the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Harwood Hooks of Monticello. Her grandparents are Eunice Owen of Pine Bluff and the late Virgil Owen and Melrose Hooks of Greenwood (Sebastian County) and the late Johnnie Bob Hooks.
The bridegroom is the son of Sally Ann Spegar of Uniontown, Pa., and the late Gerald Michael Spegar. His grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Michael John Spegar of Uniontown and the late Mr. and Mrs. Albert Joseph Oppermann.
Taylor Frankhouser and Kendall Frankhouser, both of Jupiter, Fla., distributed programs.
A program of wedding music was presented by Diane Brandon; Jordan Tucker, saxophonist; and Nancy Selman, vocalist.
Sydney Frankhouser of Jupiter, Fla., and Abigail Perkins of Macungie, Pa., were the flower girls.
Stephen Perkins and Benjamin Perkins, both of Macungie, were the acolytes.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a designer gown of ivory silk satin featuring a strapless bodice and embroidered by hand with crystals and sequins. The ballgown skirt had multiple double pleats around the drop waist. The back of the gown was set off by a dramatic deep U-shape.
She wore a cathedral-length veil.
She carried a clutch-style bouquet of pale pink French tulips, white Dutch stock, white lilacs and accents of stephanotis. The stems were wrapped with white satin and studded with pearls.
The bride's jewelry was her mother's diamond earrings.
Brittany Hooks of Monticello, sister of the bride, was the maid of honor.
The bridesmaids were Michelle Fakouri of Little Rock, Abigail Shelby of Dallas, Katherine Crain of Chicago and Anna Carol Scogin of Bentonville (Benton County).
The attendants wore gowns of tiffany blue with ivory satin ribbon bows at the waists. They carried bouquets of varying shades of pink and white tulips and white anemones wrapped in white satin.
Matthew Roskovensky of Washington, D.C., and Marty Lawson of New York were the best men and also served as ushers.
The groomsmen were Evan Braun and Jeremy Stuck, both of Pittsburgh, and Marshall Biddington of Ocean City, Md., were also ushers and groomsmen.
After the ceremony, a reception was held in the Arkansas Ballroom of The Peabody Hotel at Little Rock.
After a wedding trip to the Mayan Riviera, the couple will be at home at Chicago, where the bride is strategic account manager for Goody Products, and the bridegroom is district sales manager for Newell Rubbermaid.
The bridegroom's mother hosted a rehearsal dinner April 30 at Juanita's restaurant at Little Rock.
