PERSONS-MIZELL
DUMAS -- Jessica "Jazz" Mizell and Jeffrey "Jeff" Persons of Pine Bluff were united in marriage at 2 p.m. June 12, 2004 at First Assembly of God Church at Dumas. The Rev. Scott Gilbreath officiated at the double-ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Jackie and Cynthia Brown of White Hall and Clinton Mizell of Newport (Jackson County). Her grandparents are Ruby Morris of Hernando, Miss., Ernest Grantham and Gaye Brown, both of Dumas, Mr. and Mrs. Lee Mizell of Gould and Kay Grantham of Wynne (Cross County).
The bridegroom is the son of Harold and Pearl Persons of Dumas. He is the grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Bill Persons of Dumas and the late Mr. and Mrs. J.J. Rice of Gould.
A program of nuptial music was furnished by Blake Holiman, soloist, and Kathy Chambers, pianist.
The flower girl was Madison Rice of White Hall.
J.W. Yelvington of McGehee was the ringbearer.
The candlelighters and ushers were Joshua Mizell of White Hall and Jason Mizell of Gould, both brothers of the bride.
Given in marriage by her father and stepfather, the bride wore a designer gown in ivory, fashioned with a strapless bodice and floor-length, A-line skirt embellished with translucent beads and intricate antique beaded embroidery.
Her short, shimmering veil was secured by an antique Victorian tiara.
She carried a bouquet of large Casablanca lilies, white pearl roses and baby's breath tied with sheer navy ribbon.
Diana Baxter Duffey of Gould, cousin of the bride, was the matron of honor.
The bridesmaids were Jaclyn Bottoms of Dumas and Christa Mizell Rongey of Stuttgart, both cousins of the bride.
The bridal attendants wore strapless, floor-length gowns of gold lame, overlaid with gold lace. The matron of honor carried two white lilies tied with navy ribbon edged in gold. The bridesmaids each carried a single white lily tied with navy ribbon edged in gold.
The junior bridesmaid was Karajean Mizell of Gould, cousin of the bride, who also assisted with serving during the reception.
The best man was Todd Woolems of Ohio. The bridegroom's father served as the honorary best man.
Jay Thurman of Dumas was the groomsman.
After the ceremony, a reception, coordinated by Sharon Blankenship of White Hall, was held in the Dumas Community Center.
Shae Spears of Cabot kept the bride's book.
Bianca Spires and Kendall Grantham distributed bubbles and assisted with serving.
Diane Skipper, Becky Grantham, Patricia Baxter, Karajean Mizell and Kimmie Mizell also assisted with serving.
After a wedding trip to Daytona Beach, Fla., the couple is at home at Pine Bluff.
