She is assistant principal at Marte Valle Secondary School, a comprehensive model school project in New York City.
Mr. Vega, a graduate of Salesion San Pedro Claver, Cartagena, and Queens College, is a teacher of mathematics at Manhattan International High School.
He also coaches women's volleyball, basketball, and softball at Julia Richmond Educational Complex in New York City.
The couple plans a July 2001 wedding.
