Sabo - Bowditch
Melissa Ann Sabo, Freeland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Sabo, Hazleton, and Mr. and Mrs. Robert Wickiser, Freeland, and Thomas Weir Bowditch, Freeland, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas F. Bowditch, Mountaintop, were married in a double ring ceremony performed by the Rev. Jane Hess in Faith United Church of Christ, Hazleton.
Robert Wickiser, stepfather of the bride; Christine Sabo, stepmother of the bride, and Donna Granoski, godmother of the groom, gave readings.
Following a reception at Best Western Genetti Motor Lodge, the couple left on a honeymoon trip to New York City. They now reside in Freeland.
Given in marriage by her mother and father, the bride chose her stepsister, Bonnie Marencin, West Hazleton, as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were Elaine Nause, Middletown, Del., and Brenda Leonard, Hazleton, cousins of the bride, and Gina Mariano, Avon, Conn.
Thomas Corcoran, Nanticoke, performed the duties of best man. Groomsmen were Ryan Knox, Pottstown, stepbrother of the bride; Fred Granoski, Nanticoke, cousin of the groom; and Jeffrey Nause, Middletown, Del., cousin of the bride. Tristan Nause, Middletown, Del., was the ring bearer.
The bride, a 1998 graduate of King’s College, is assistant human resources manager for Dollar Tree Stores, Inc. A 1995 graduate of King’s College, the groom is employed by RCN.
A shower in honor of the bride was hosted by her mother at the Freeland VFW. The groom’s parents hosted the rehearsal dinner also at the Freeland VFW
