Mitchell - Samler
St. John Bosco Church, Conyngham, was the setting for the marriage of Jennifer June Mitchell and Richard James Samler. The Rev. Joseph Evanko performed the double ring ceremony.
The bride is the daughter of Robert and Carol Mitchell, Montoursville, and granddaughter of Walter and Jane Lis, Machias, N.Y. The groom is the son of Wilbert and Carol Samler, Brookhill, and grandson of Gloria Moore, Hazleton, and the late Robert C. Moore and the late Wilbert and Elva Samler.
Dennis Moore Jr. and Robert Moore, Hazleton, cousins of the groom, gave readings. Catherine and Jessica Grimshaw, North Carolina, cousins of the bride, were greeters.
Following a reception at the Stage Coach Inn, the couple left on a honeymoon trip to Killington, Vt. They now reside in Shalimar, Fla.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose Amanda Wright, Harrisburg, as matron of honor. Bridesmaids were Heather Heater, East Stroudsburg, and Pamela (Samler) Holderman, Hazleton, the groom’s sister. The bride’s sisters, Elizabeth and Claire Mitchell, Montoursville, were junior bridesmaid and flower girl, respectively.
Wilbert Samler III, Hazleton, served as best man for his brother, and groomsmen were Kevin Eckrote, Drums; James DeMara, New Jersey, and John Mitchell, Baltimore, Md., brother of the bride.
The bride is a graduate of Robert E. Lee High School, Montgomery, Ala., and received a Bachelor’s degree from Penn State University.
She is an officer in the Air Force stationed at Eglin Air Force Base, Fla..
The groom, a graduate of Hazleton Area High School, received an associate degree in heating, ventilation and air conditioning technology from the Pennsylvania College of Technology and was employed at Air Conditioning and Refrigeration Services, Sugarloaf.
A shower in honor of the bride were given by her co-workers at Eglin Air Force Base, and both mothers and the bridesmaids hosted a couple’s shower at Edgewood in the Pines, Drums.
The rehearsal dinner was hosted by the groom’s parents Ferdinand’s Family Restaurant.
