Emma Hollis Broom and Mark Arnold Wuertz II exchanged wedding vows Aug. 23, 2003 at 5 p.m., at Lyttleton St. United Methodist Church in Camden.
Rev. Frank J. Griffith and Rev. Matthew Genos officiated at the double-ring ceremony.
A reception followed at TenEleven Broad St., The Galleria, Camden.
The bride is a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert Franklin Broom, Jr. of Camden.
The groom is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Mark A. Wuertz of Toledo, Ohio.
Nuptial music was provided by organist, Ms. Julia C. Halford; pianist, Ms. Joan P. Strickland; trumpeter, Mr. C. Ronald Lybrand, uncle of the bride of Union; vocalist, Mrs. Laura C. Hunt who sang The Gift of Love; Trio sang Be Thou My Vision; violinist, Julia Barnes; guitarist, Nathan Poole, and vocalist, Nikki Camp.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose a princess gown overlaid with appliqued net. A cummerbund band framed the strapless neckline; pearl and sequin Venise lace cascaded down the front of the bodice and skirt.
Tiny covered buttons drew the eye to the semicathedral train.
Her elbow-length veil was edged in satin cording. She carried a bouquet of red roses.
Maid of honor was Miss Jennifer Kay Austin of Camden. Bridesmaids were Miss Sarah Helen Horton, Camden; Miss Jill Elizabeth Goltry, Owensboro, Ky.; Miss Patricia Gaylon Wuertz and Miss Kerri Anne Wuertz, sisters of the groom of Toledo, Ohio, and Miss Erin Elizabeth Coomer of Clover.
Honor attendants chose two-piece dresses of bengaline with a diamond-white princess bodice featuring spaghetti straps and square neckline and black A-line skirts. They carried bouquets of red roses.
Flower girl was Miss Aysia Marie Wuertz of Glenmore, Pa., cousin of the groom. Ringbearer was Master David Sailor Ramos of Hillsborough, N.C., cousin of the bride. Thomas Charles Schings of Lambertville, Mich., served as best man.
Groomsmen were James Gilbert Broom of Camden, brother of the bride; Adam Edward Debrosse, Jason Ronald Koval, Daniel Joseph Krempec and John Philip Suess, all of Toledo, Ohio. Progams were distributed by Michael Christian Broom and Steven Curtis Broom of Whitmire, cousins of the bride.
Wedding director was the Hon. Mary Y. Clark, Mayor of Camden. The bride graduated Magna Cum Laude from USC Honors College with a B.S. in chemistry. She is a granddaughter of Mrs. James H. Lybrand and the late Mr. Lybrand of Union and Mrs. Gilbert Broom and the late Mr. Broom of Whitmire.
The groom holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Toledo and is employed by Bennett Enterprise of Toledo. He is a grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Urbanski of Florida and Mrs. Norenn Wuertz and the late Mr. Wuertz of Michigan. After a honeymoon trip to Palm Beach, Fla., the couple will reside in Toledo, Ohio.
