Miranda Brooke Simmons became the bride of Travis Heath Hackler in a candlelight ceremony June 28, 2003 at 7 p.m. at Buffalo Baptist Church, Buffalo, South Carolina.
Rev. Timothy Eugene Anderson officiated at the double-ring ceremony.
Immediately following, the bride's parents gave a reception at the Pinewood Golf Club in Union. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas David Simmons of Buffalo.
The groom is the son of Roger Lee Hackler and Mr. and Mrs. Ronny Dean Lancaster, all of Union. Nuptial music was provided by Mrs. Barbara Varner Ramsey of Buffalo, pianist; vocalists, Mr. Carol Hampton Bailey, Jr. and Miss Meredith Ford Cromer of Union, with the prelude, processional and recessional provided by Strings for All Occasions of Greenville, S.C.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride chose an elegant halter-top, A-line gown, with diamond-accented neckline with piping, deep re-embroidered lace, triple-satin edged cathedral train, designed by Mary's. She wore an opal ring on her right hand which belonged to her late great-grandmother and symbolized October birthdays shared by them.
Her single-tiered fingertip veil, edged with rhinestones, fell from a dramatic tiara of sprays of petite metal flowers, rhinestones and crystals. She carried a bouquet of Casablanca lilies, white roses, pink and white lisianthus and white alstroemeria accented with rhinestones and nestled in an intricately carved silver bouquet holder.
Matrons of honor were Mrs. Stacy Simmons Kicidis and Mrs. Audra Simmons Sailors, sisters of the bride, of Union. They wore Alexia Designs two-piece dresses, with stone-colored halter tops of matte satin with matte satin beads and an A-line skirt. They carried bouquets of Casablanca lilies, pink and white lisianthus, and white alstroemeria with pink roses, also designed in elegant silver bouquet holders.
Bridesmaids were Miss Courtney Brookes Hackler, sister of the groom of Union; Miss Michelle Aleta Jolly and Miss Lara Rebecca Roberson, friends of the bride of Greenville, and Miss Amanda Roxanne Tucker, friend of the bride of Buffalo. They carried similar bouquets and wore gowns identical to those of the matrons of honor.
Miniature bride was the bride's niece, Miss Hannah Melissa Sailors of Union. She carried a miniature version of the bride's bouquet. Flower girl was Kristin Michelle Kicidis, niece of the bride of Union. She carried a flower ball sprinkled with rhinestones.
Ringbearer was David Allen Threadgill, nephew of the bride, also of Union. The groom chose his father as best man. Groomsmen were Grant Preston Hackler, brother of the groom of Statesville, N.C.; William Michael Kicidis, brother-in-law of the bride; William Rod Knight, friend of the groom; Steven Shane Sailors, brother-in-law of the bride and John Arthur Turner, friend of the groom, all of Union. Dillon Shane Sailors, nephew of the bride of Union, was miniature groom. Acolyte was John Simmons Fallaw, cousin of the bride of Union.
Tiffany Lynn Morris of Spartanburg and Virginia Leigh Newton of Buffalo attended the register. Mrs. Dawn Simmons Fallaw of Union, cousin of the bride served as wedding director.
The bride is a graduate of Union High School and received a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from USC-Columbia. She currently holds a management position with Staffmark, LLC, a national staffing Company. She is a granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Orion Oetzel Lancaster and the late Mr. and Mrs. George Edward Simmons, Sr. all of Buffalo.
The groom is a graduate of Union High School. He is a grandson of the late Dr. and Mrs. Bruce Martin of Conway, S.C. and Mrs. Walter Hackler and the Late Mr. Hackler of Galax, Va. After a honeymoon trip to Runaway Bay, Jamaica, the couple will live in Union.

April 26, the bride was honored with a lingerie and miscellaneous shower at the home of Mrs. Grady Tucker with hostesses Amanda Tucker and Michelle Jolly, friends of the bride. A luncheon and around-the-house shower at the Collins home in Greenville, was hosted by Jane Billings, great-aunt of the bride, Reba Collins, Rita Snyder and Donna Mounce, all cousins of the bride.
May 17, honoring the bride, sisters, bridesmaids and friends of the bride enjoyed a bachelorette week end at Myrtle Beach.
May 31, an afternoon shower was hosted by Missy Shelton and Gilda Wilson, friends of the bride, at the Shelton home in Blacksburg. A couples shower and BBQ was given at the Lake Murray home of Mr. and Mrs. Ronnie Lee. Co-hosts were Mr. and Mrs. Tom Jones of Prosperity, S.C. Sisters and brothers-in-law of the bride hosted a couples cookout and round-the-clock shower at the home of Shane and Audra Sailors. Co-hosts were Michael and Stacy Kicidis. The groom's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Dean Lancaster, hosted the rehearsal dinner at Buffalo Baptist Church Fellowship Hall on the eve of the wedding.
Mrs. George E. Simmons, Jr., aunt of the bride, and Mrs. John H. Fallaw, cousin of the bride, hosted the bridesmaids luncheon at the home of Mrs. Fallaw at noon on the wedding day.
