Mr. and Mrs. Marcus D. Varnadoe of Union, South Carolina announce the engagement of their daughter Amanda Shirley to Jason Matthew Davis son of the late Derrell Davis and Mrs. Melanie Lawson, and stepson of Mr. Wes Lawson of Jonesville, South Carolina.
A wedding is planned May 24, 2003 at 7 o'clock in the evening at Morningside Baptist Church.
The bride-elect is a graduate of Union High School and is enrolled at USC-U working toward a master's degree in art education.
She is currently employed at Cato. She is a granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Alexander and the late Shirley Hawkins Alexander and the late Rev. and Mrs. Lionel Varnadoe.
The groom is also a graduate of Union High School and an employee of Milliken Cedar Hill Plant.
He is a grandson of the late Mr. and Mrs. Lawson Petrie and Mrs. Ozella Davis and the late Jesse Davis.
