U.S. Virgin Islands is wedding scene Ms. Emily LouAnn Henderson became the bride of Mr. Jason Patrick Ryan of Anderson during a double-ring ceremony on December 18, 2002 at Magen's Bay, St. Thomas, U.S. Virgin Islands.
Reverend David Rathnam of New Hope Christian Centre of British Columbia, Canada officiated the two o'clock service. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ronald A. Henderson of Buffalo, SC. The groom is the son of Mrs. Marilyn Ryan of Bloomington, Indiana and the late Patrick Ryan.
Vocalist for the ceremony was Mr. Paul Rathnam of Abbotsford, British Columbia. Given in marriage by her father, the bride was attired in a formal gown of Milino satin. The V-neck bodice was adorned with beaded double straps. The princess bodice was accented with microshell sequins, tiny Rocaille beads, and seed pearls. The semi-full skirt extended into a chapel length train. She chose a two tier veil of imported silk illusion that was attached to a small beaded headpiece. Her bouquet consisted of pink, peach, cream and red roses, baby's breath and English ivy.
Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Magellan Room aboard the Explorer of the Seas, Royal Caribbean Cruise Ship. After a honeymoon trip on a cruise of the Eastern Caribbean, including San Juan, Puerto Rico, St. Martin, St. Thomas and Nassau Bahamas, the couple is residing in Anderson.
The bride received a B.A. degree from the University of South Carolina and is currently pursuing a master's degree from Converse College. She is a third grade teacher at Buffalo Elementary School. She is a granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Joseph H. Lancaster and the late Mr. and Mrs. M.Y. Henderson.
The groom attended Bloomington Academy of Math and Science. Currently, he is a finance manager at Massey Auto Sales in Anderson. He is a grandson of Mrs. Delores Martens of Culver, Indiana and the late Harvey Martens and Mr. and Mrs. William Ryan of Port Richie, Florida.
Parties and showers:
An engagement party was held on August 22, 2002, at Bovine's Restaurant in Myrtle Beach hosted by the bride's family.
On October 29, 2002, a home and garden shower was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. Barry Medford and Mr. and Mrs. Michael Gunter in the Medford's home.
On November 2, 2002, a miscellaneous wedding shower was held at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Haney. It was hosted by Mrs. Phyllis Haney and Mrs. Nancy Long.
On November 26, a Wedding Luau shower was hosted by Mrs. Denise Vanderford, Mrs. Kim Treadway, Mrs. Jeannie Solomon, Mrs. Stephanie Jenkins, Mrs. Jennifer Stepp, Mrs. Kelly Sanders, and Mrs. Jeri Stein at Buffalo Elementary School.
On December 6, Mr. and Mrs. Charlie Jenkins and Mr. and Mrs. Harold Blackmon, Jr. hosted a Christmas shower at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins.
On December 7, a Wine and Cheese party was held at Mr. and Mrs. Rufus Moss home on Lake Hartwell in Anderson. It was hosted by the Mosses and Miss Angie Owens.
On December 23, a Wedding Celebration party was hosted by Mr. and Mrs. William Ryan, grandparents of the groom, at Baychang Thai in Port Richie, Florida.
