Cotterell - 50 years
Betsy Joan (McCarrel) and Richard Darrell Cotterell will celebrate their 50th wedding anniversary on Monday, Nov. 8, 2004.
Betsy and Richard were married on Nov. 8, 1954 in Elko, Nev.
Their first 21 years were spent in the U.S. Air Force, first living in Idaho, three years in England and then back to Idaho.
After a year in Southeast Asia, the next move was to Long Island, N.Y. until the base closed and then to Mather AFB until the final move to Plymouth on their retirement.
After retirement, Richard owned an auto repair shop for about five years.
Betsy was employed by the Amador County Unified School District as an aide for severely handicapped students, then to special day class and finally to resource students and then retired after 20 years.
Richard was then employed with the U.S. Postal Service and retired after 12 years.
They now enjoy being with their family and traveling as much as possible.
Their children are Sue Bunch, Wade Cotterell, Brian Cotterell, Pamela Jones, Danny Cotterell, Darla Cormier, Wendy Cotterell, Chris Cotterell and all children live in Amador County.
Their grandchildren include Vincent, Joey, Tracy, Brandon, Triniti, Keith, Michael, Brandy, Kristy, Sarah, Laura, Logan, Jennifer, Eli, Amber, Valerie, Janie, David, Christopher and James.
Great-grandchildren include Dylan, Alayna, Vincent, Keith, Emily, Blake and baby Jason - due on April 2, 2005.
